 Strolling
Through

"Strolling Through” the Canvas is an immersive art installation where a large-scale painting, spanning 100 square meters, is laid flat on the floor. Visitors interact with the artwork by walking on wooden boards strategically placed over the painting, allowing them to experience the piece in a unique and tactile way. The installation invites participants to engage with the painting both visually and physically, creating a dynamic and personal interaction with the art.

Elements
The Floor Painting
The painting covers the entire 100-square-meter floor space, making it the central focus of the installation. The sheer size of the artwork encourages viewers to explore it in its entirety, offering a panoramic experience of the artist's vision. The painting is an abstract composition, characterized by fluid, vibrant colors, and intricate patterns. It might evoke natural elements, like flowing water, and swirling wind, creating a sense of movement and depth across the floor. The painting is oil on canvas

Wooden Boards
Wooden boards are placed at regular intervals across the painting, acting as walkways for visitors. Each board is slightly elevated above the surface of the painting (about 5cm), just enough to allow the viewer to feel hanging over the artwork. The boards are positioned to guide visitors along a specific path or to encourage them to explore the painting in a non-linear way. The layout encourages movement and discovery, allowing visitors to experience different perspectives and details of the artwork as they step across it. The wooden boards add a layer of physical sensation to the experience. The creaking of the boards as visitors walk, combined with the visual stimulation of the painting, creates a multi-sensory experience that deepens the connection to the artwork.

Conceptual Background
Engaging with "Strolling Through" challenges traditional notions of viewing art by placing the painting underfoot, rather than on a wall. This reversal of perspective encourages viewers to engage with the artwork in a new way, moving through it rather than simply observing it.
Interaction and Immersion: The installation emphasizes the role of the viewer in completing the artwork. By walking on the boards, visitors are not just passive observers but active participants in the experience. Their movement through the space becomes part of the art itself, adding a dynamic element to the installation.
Reflection and Contemplation: The installation is designed to be a contemplative space, where visitors can reflect on the relationship between their own movement and the art. The act of walking through the painting creates a meditative rhythm, encouraging introspection and a deeper connection with the artwork.

"Strolling Through " is an innovative art installation that redefines the interaction between viewer and artwork. By placing a large-scale painting on the floor and guiding visitors across it with wooden boards, the installation creates a unique, immersive experience where art is not just seen, but felt and traversed. This blend of visual and physical engagement invites participants to explore the boundaries of art and their own role in the creative process.
